The basic identity of Tourist Finland, Visit Finland consists of four characteristics: credible, positively contrasting, creative, and cool.


The most important task is to include Finland earlier in the planning and dreaming process of a traveller, and to increase the reputation of Finland as a desired object of travel. The central objective is maximising tourism income, not so much the number of overnight stays.

Target group

The primary target of brand work consists of about 15 per cent of the travelling world population. Travelling to a country like Finland appeals to the values and sentiments of the target group we selected. "Modern humanists" have already seen the metropolises of the world. They are open to new experiences and developing themselves. They value above all the quality of living and accountability. The target group is searched by countries using the RISC and VALS research methods.

Marketing themes

Based on the core values of Visit Finland, tourism themes have been developed for Finland. They are based on motives and are thus closer to the consumers' world of ideas.

Silence, please
Counterbalancing the hurried everyday life and accelerating rhythm of life, Finland offers silence and room to breathe, even in the cities. The traveller can take it easy, lead a cottage life, have a sauna, and enjoy the clean nature. The products include, e.g. cottage life, sauna, nature and wellness services.

Wild & Free
Every traveller would like to experience at least one memorable adventure during their holiday. The Finnish nature provides opportunities for awesome nature activities, like motor and dog safaris, "island hopping" experience by boating or canoeing in the archipelago, or, for example, a snowball fight in the city. The Finnish Tourist Board services consist of product marketing campaigns, sales events, media and industry visits, online visibility, and other possible sales promotion services. In addition, The Finnish Tourist Board has its own Visit Finland representative network abroad, the task of which is to maintain and expand B2B contacts.

Meetings & Events

The sales promotion and marketing of conference, convention and business events take place under name Finland Convention Bureau.

The focus of marketing activities is on personal contacts, participation in industry expositions, and sales promotion trips. The Finnish Tourist Board participates in the international activities of the industry by being involved in the Meetings Industry organisations.
